It is day 4 with a broken toe and I am ready to do one of two things. Kill myself or kill anyone around me. This last week was supposed to be my last ditch effort at training to the max. My last run of cardio and my last bit of indoor before the end of the season. Not being able to pursue this is driving me crazy. Extremely frustrating. Being forced to take it easy and watch TV is torture....and not the good kind. ;)
I can totally understand how a broken leg, ankle, wrist or something major can take you out of the game. But a toe? Are you kidding me? What an insignificant body part. Geez. For something so small, it sure does create a huge pain in the ass.
So far, the swelling has gone down a bit but walking all over the site at work is not doing it much good. I get to ice it every night but I am sure it would be better if I could do it here in the office as well. On the brighter side, the pain has subsided. It is more a nuisance than anything else at this point. I have yet to tape it up and I am not sure when I should give that a try. I was hoping not to take any drastic actions until I get to Mex but this has never happened before so I am not sure if I should give everything a run through this weekend. Contemplating it.
Information that I have gathered both from doctor friends and such have all basically said that healing takes 6-10 weeks. That is just not an option. I have to find a way. If I can play tennis with broken fingers I can certainly skate with a broken toe. It must be done!
